WISCONSIN BATTERY LAWS
 
In Wisconsin, to prove battery, the prosecution must show the defendant caused bodily harm to another by an act done with intent to cause bodily harm to that person or another and without the consent of the person harmed. This is a class A misdemeanor in Wisconsin. If the act causes substantial bodily harm the defendant can be charged with a class I felony in Wisconsin. If the act causes great bodily harm, the defendant can be charged with a class H felony in Wisconsin.
