The maxium time allowed for by the Wisconsin Statute is as follows:

Class B felony is not more than 60 years, Class C $100,000 fine and not more than 40 years or both, Class D $100,000 or 25 years or both, Class E $50,000 or 15 or both, Class F 25,000 or 12.5 years or both, Class G $25,000 10 years or both, Class H $10,000 or 6 years or both, Class I $10,000 3.5 years or both.

The best criminal defense attorneys are sometimes able to convince the prosecution to amend a felony to a misdemeanor.  Recently, Attorney Griessmeyer was able to get two felony charges with maximum exposure of 13.5 years reduced to one misdemenaor charge with maximum exposure of 9 months.  The defendant got sentenced to one year probation and 20 days electronic monitoring.
